The change in automotive industry is unstoppable. We, who take part in this industry, strive to make our own contribution to nature conservation and healthier environment via energy efficiency projects, the use of renewable energy sources and good daily business practices.
In 2023 we completed an important project “Increasing energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources in manufacturing industries” funded by the EU under the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion for the period 2014-2020.
The above-mentioned project included energy retrofitting of our production and office premises at Janka Leskovara Street 36/3 in Pregrada and the following works:
- Revitalization of indoor and outdoor lighting – the lesser efficient fluorescent and halogen light bulbs were replaced with LED light bulbs for higher energy efficiency;
- Machine replacement for higher energy efficiency – 20 sewing machines were replaced with their energy efficient counterparts;
- Upgrading and installation of the heating, cooling and ventilation system for higher energy efficiency – installation of air-to-water heat pumps with waste heat recovery within climate chambers on the shop floor and replacement of fan coils in offices.
- Installation of solar PV power plant for electricity generation, with maximum installed capacity of 200 KW to cover our own electricity generation previously delivered from the distribution grid.
The above-mentioned project has significantly reduced the consumption of electricity delivered from the grid (for more than 50% in comparison to electricity delivered in the pre-implementation phase), making a major step forward towards sustainable production.
